GAMES:
Played on Wednesdays at Hickford Park, Bell Block.
Games are 15-minute halves with a 2-minute half-time.
The probable game times are:
4.00pm – U6/U8
4.35pm – U10/U12
5.10pm – U12/Year 7&8
(These times are subject to change depending on number of entries)
SEASON:
Starts Wednesday 16 October and runs for 8 weeks until Wednesday 4 December.
GRADES:
*Age as at 31 December 2024
U6
Players must be 5 years and under.
Mixed grade, 5-aside, at least one female on field at all times.
U8
Players must be 7 years and under.
Mixed grade, 5-aside, at least one female on field at all times.
U10
Players must be 9 years and under.
Mixed grade, 5-aside, at least one female on field at all times.
U12
Players must be 11 years and under.
Mixed grade, 6-aside, at least 2 females on field at all times.
Year 7&8
Must be an Intermediate student.
Mixed or Boys or Females grade, 6 aside, at least two females on field at all times.
TNZ Rules apply.
FEES:
$42 – U6, U8, U10, U12 grades
$50 – Year 7/8 (If player is in Year 7 or 8 at school, they will play in Intermediate grade).
Fees include affiliation to Touch Taranaki and Touch NZ.
Fees must be paid via Kindo to ensure your child is eligible for team selection.
Once registered to play the fees will be non-refundable.
UNIFORM:
A blue school sports shirt will be provided before the first game. Players should wear blue or black shorts/tights.
Year 1-6 play in bare feet.
Year 7-8 footwear is compulsory (running shoes, touch boots). Screw-in or metal sprigs are not permitted. No cargo shorts or shorts below the knee. Jewellery is not permitted.
DRAWS:
Draws are displayed at HQ on game day and are also available via the Facebook page for ‘City Touch Taranaki’.
CANCELLATIONS:
A cancellation notice will be made by 1.00pm on game day and posted on the ‘City Touch Taranaki’ Facebook page.
REFEREES:
Teams are required to referee their own games – except for Intermediate grade teams (City Touch Referee Academy provide referees for this grade only).
COMPETITION RULES:
The competition is run under Touch NZ Guidelines, however games are played on modified half fields. Further modifications to rules have been made to transition to TNZ Junior Touch Policy 2020.
POINTS:
Mixed grade tries are 1 point for male, 2 points for female.
Gender grade tries are 1 point.
