Bell Block School students are encouraged to participate in a range of summer and winter sports both at school and outside of school competitions.
School sports teams are entered in New Plymouth competitions for cricket, touch, hockey, netball, volleyball, miniball and basketball. Teams are generally coached by parent volunteers.
Students playing rugby and football are catered for by outside clubs such as the Bell Block Rugby Club and the Bell Block United Junior Football Club.
During the winter months, Year 5-8 students participate in an interschool competition playing netball, football and rugby against other New Plymouth schools. Other interschool events include swimming and cross country running.
All students are expected to participate in the schoolwide triathlon, swimming sports, cross country and athletics.
Bell Block School is fortunate to have parent volunteers who coach and assist the school teams. Our sports teams rely on adult volunteers from the community to help us offer as much opportunity to our students as possible. Coaching and volunteering is a highly rewarding activity so please consider putting your hand up to assist wherever you can.
