Bell Block School offers a number of extra curricular activities to students. These include: kapa haka, chess, Kids’ Lit Quiz teams, orchestra and music lessons. We offer Outdoor Academy to the Year 7-8 students and a bi-annual musical production for the whole school.
OUTDOOR ACADEMY
Term 1 & 2
The Term 1 & 2 Outdoor Academies were: Sailing at Ngamotu Beach and a variety of activities at TSB TOPEC. Both vendors commented on the amazing behaviour of our students.
LITERACY QUIZ
At the end of Term 1 our Librarian, Ms Manukonga, took two teams of Bell Block School students to Sacred Heart Girls’ College to participate in the 2025 Kids’ Lit Quiz. There were approximately 20 teams from around the Taranaki and Whanganui region from Year 5 to Year 8.
While Bell Block School didn’t come away with a placing this year, both teams won a category round each with some students taking out individual bonus round questions (and a cash prize for their pockets!). Ms Manukonga was extremely proud how well the students represented our school throughout the day.
