WEET-BIX TRY CHALLENGE
The highlight of Week 3 was the Weet-Bix TRY Challenge held on 16 May. There was a real buzz around the school as students arrived at school and saw the course set up on the field. The students had a go at a range of activities from cargo nets to giant inflatables as they ran laps around the field. It was great to see so many of our students getting involved and having some fun in the near perfect weather conditions. After 25 minutes of giving their best, they ran up the finish straight to get their medal and a bowl of Weet-Bix and fruit.
There was a lovely atmosphere with lots of families joining us to cheer on the students. We would like to thank Sanitarium and the other sponsors, as well as Sport Taranaki, who gave our students this opportunity. Thank you also to Mrs Emily Doelman who co-ordinated this event for the school and those parents who helped out at the event.

COMMUNITY OPEN AFTERNOON – Thursday 6 June
We would like to invite our community and whānau to our Open Afternoon on Thursday 6 June from 2.00pm – 3.30pm.
The goal is to have our whānau come in to school so that your child can share their learning with you. The Open Afternoon will be led by students, showcasing their progress and sharing what they’ve been up to throughout the year so far. Students will share how they have improved their writing, what they’re learning in maths, their artwork on the walls, demonstrate their PE skills, explore the brand new science room, and other areas of their life at Bell Block School.
All welcome.

MIHI WHAKATAU
It was a great pleasure to welcome our new staff, students and their families at our Mihi Whakatau on Tuesday 30 April. The Taranaki weather turned on a stunning day for our school to welcome, and officially transition, our new whānau into the school and community. Thank you to those families who were able to attend and our Deputy Principal, Courtney Goldsworthy, for her work in bringing this new event together. Moving forward, we will be holding a mihi whakatau at the beginning of each term to welcome new students and their families to our school.
